Wysi is a leading web development agency specialising in technical and complex web development solutions to SMEs and larger companies. They approached Neathouse as they were looking for ‘something a bit different’ to the rather passive service their previous HR company had been providing.
Robert Wakefield, the the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Wysi, approached us in February 2019 while looking for an HR company ‘less passive’ than his previous provider.
The contract with his previous provider had just expired, and looking at the market, Robert opted to come on board with us.
The First Moves
Taking over from a previous provider is very much a housekeeping exercise. Although the business was in an excellent state of play, we needed to make sure the company had robust Contracts of Employment, and a staff Handbook fit for purpose.
Furthermore, the nature of the business dictates that the company employ several freelancers. Thus, the company needed to receive self-employment agreements tailored to the nature of the role.
What We Did
- Wysi was allocated to Bobby Ahmed as their dedicated HR and Employment Law advisor;
- Bobby spoke with Robert on the day he signed and soon got to grips with the issues the business was having.
- New employment contracts were prepared, as well as self-employment agreements for the freelancers.
- A staff handbook was introduced to help improve the already excellent working culture in the business.
Within two weeks of becoming a client, all the Contracts were finalised. We have since worked on several HR projects for Robert, remedying a number of sensitive issues with solutions driven by the company’s aims and objectives.
