About DSI London

DSI London (DanceSport International Ltd.), founded in 1982 by Geoffrey Hearn and Peggy Spencer MBE, is a world-renowned supplier of Ballroom and Latin dancewear and accessories. Originally launched as Hearn & Spencer Ltd., the company evolved from the historic "Alex Moore Letter Service" into a full-scale dancewear enterprise.

Over the years, DSI expanded its offerings significantly:

  • Publishing: Developed "The Choreographer" magazine (until 2008), sharing choreography with dance teachers globally.

  • Retail & Media: Grew from selling a few dance books and records to providing a comprehensive catalogue of media, footwear, and accessories. This included a foray into video production, culminating in DSI-TV.

  • Apparel: Launched a full dressmaking division in 2000, now employing over 25 staff, offering bespoke dancewear and costumes.

  • Partnerships & Events: Official rhinestone supplier for Preciosa since 2003 and frequent contributor to high-profile events such as the Strictly Come Dancing TV series and Harrods Christmas displays.

DSI operates globally but maintains a strong UK presence through its Croydon showroom. The brand rebranded from Hearn & Spencer Ltd. to DSI to better reflect its international dance sport identity. In 2022, DSI celebrated 40 years in business and moved to new headquarters at Progress Business Park in Croydon.

Today, DSI London stands as a leader in the dancewear industry, offering a one-stop solution for dancers worldwide.
