About Skills Up CIC

Skills Up is a support service for adults with additional needs, based in Runcorn but serving clients from Halton. It has been running for more than 6 years and has grown in recent years, in terms of staffing and client numbers. Skills Up was set up by Amanda, who is a former teacher and has a brother with autism, as she wanted to offer a service that focused on learning and life skills. Sessions deliver basic skills, projects and personal development in person centred and creative ways. Feedback from clients, carers and stakeholders has been positive and the company won Social Enterprise of the Year at Halton Business Awards.
